Honda is doubling down on performance, unveiling new Civic Type R and Prelude concepts built with hardware from Honda Racing Corporation. The duo hints at what a factory HRC upgrade could look like if the company brings its racing components to the wider market.

The Civic Type R follows the spirit of the 2024 Integra Type S HRC prototype, though it’s tough to dissect the details—the show car was wrapped tightly from nose to tail. The Prelude, by contrast, goes all-in visually: carbon body panels, a larger front splitter, extended side skirts, a pronounced diffuser, and a sizeable rear wing. Together, the pieces nudge the concept closer to a track tool than a regular production coupe.

Although the cabins weren’t shown, they likely echo the Integra HRC formula: lightweight buckets, a removed rear bench, and a strengthening brace. Honda has already suggested that performance components could be sold separately, and these concepts only strengthen that expectation.
