Tesla updates the five-seat Model Y in China with a 16-inch 2K display and unchanged prices
Tesla refreshes the five-seat Model Y in China with a 16-inch 2K center display, unchanged prices, updated delivery times, and new financing options today.
Tesla has made a small update to the five-seat Model Y in China while keeping prices unchanged. The headline change is a new center display: the previous 15.4-inch 1080p panel gives way to a 16-inch 2K screen, the same unit used in the six-seat Model Y L. The switch improves clarity and leans on a supplier already proven with the Y L.
Against the backdrop of fierce local competition, the move looks like a precise tweak rather than a full refresh. Many domestic brands already offer 3K displays and treat the digital cockpit as a major purchase driver. Tesla China notes that all other specifications and configurations of the five-seat Model Y remain the same. It feels like measured polishing to keep the car current without overhauling the package.
Prices still start at 263,500 yuan, followed by versions at 288,500 and 313,500 yuan. The six-seat Model Y L starts at 339,000 yuan.
At the same time, Tesla updated delivery guidance on its Chinese site: the base Model Y is now quoted at 1–3 weeks, while the other two five-seat versions are 4–6 weeks. The Model Y L is listed at 2–4 weeks. For the Model 3, all versions show a 2–4 week wait, and a new blue color has been added. Tesla also introduced seven-year financing at a reduced rate across the local lineup and, for the first time, a five-year 0% installment plan for the Model Y L. Taken together, the sharper screen, steady pricing, and friendlier financing come across as a sensible, low-risk update for the Chinese market.
