Ram has announced the new TRX for the 2026 model year, with an official debut scheduled for January 1, 2026. A video teaser hints that it will be the most powerful truck the brand has ever built. The soundtrack carries the signature throb of a V8, underlining the pickup’s intent, yet the absence of the usual supercharger whine sparks speculation about a possible move to turbocharging. Teaser audio can be carefully curated, though, so for now the powertrain details remain unresolved.

The 2026 Ram TRX is set to sharpen its off-road game, aiming for greater capability out in the rough. If Ford is fitting 37-inch tires, Ram is likely to follow suit—an approach that would raise ground clearance and help the truck clamber over larger obstacles. Upsizing the tires would also give the suspension more to work with, smoothing vertical motions over harsh terrain.

As for output, the new TRX could outmuscle the Ford F-150 Raptor R and its 720 horsepower. If it continues with the Hellcat engine, Ram could dial it up with the larger 2.7-liter supercharger used in Redeye and Super Stock models. Alternatively, a turbocharged setup is on the table—one that, down the road, could push as high as 1,600 hp. That target sounds ambitious, and the final figure will hinge on what Ram signs off when the truck is revealed.
