Toyota recalls 2024–2025 Highlander over third-row seat-belt anchors

Toyota recalls certain 2024–2025 Highlanders for misaligned third-row seat-belt anchorages built in Indiana. Owners notified by Feb 14, 2026; dealer fix free.

Toyota Motor North America has identified a safety issue involving the Highlander family crossover. In certain 2024 and 2025 models, the third-row seat-belt anchorages may have been installed at an incorrect angle. For a family-focused three-row model, that’s the kind of detail that matters.

The problem surfaced during routine internal quality checks on the company’s assembly line in February 2025. The inspection found the defect on two vehicles built at the facility, a sign the system caught it in-house.

To address the issue, owners of the affected models will be notified in writing by February 14, 2026. Those whose vehicles fall under the recall can contact authorized Toyota dealers to have the fault corrected free of charge—straightforward and familiar for recall work.

The recall applies only to vehicles produced at the corporation’s plant in Indiana, USA, from September 2024 through February 2025, inclusive.
