2026 Volvo EX30 adds Single Motor Plus and Cross Country for the US

Volvo expands the 2026 EX30 lineup in the US with Single Motor Plus and off-road-ready Cross Country. Get specs, range, pricing from $40,245. More details.

Volvo is looking to boost interest in its smallest EV, the EX30, in the United States by adding two 2026 model-year variants: the more affordable Single Motor Plus and the more adventurous EX30 Cross Country.

The EX30 was originally positioned as an electric car priced around $35,000, but U.S. tariffs on vehicles made in China pushed its entry point to $45,000 and trimmed the list of available configurations. Unsurprisingly, that combination dulled its appeal for buyers.

The Single Motor Plus uses a single electric motor rated at 268 horsepower, offers up to 420 km of range, and carries a starting price of $40,245 including destination. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, which is brisk for an entry version and should suit daily driving without feeling pared back.

The EX30 Cross Country adds a second motor for a total of 422 horsepower, along with increased ground clearance, revised suspension, and more off-road-oriented tires. Towing capacity rises to 1,588 kg, while range moves to 365 km. Pricing is set at $49,445. The trade-off in range looks in line with the tougher rubber and extra ride height.

Both versions share a 69-kWh battery and the SEA-1 platform. Volvo maintains that this refreshed lineup makes the EX30 more compelling as a city-focused EV, even if pricing still runs higher than some rivals. On paper, the spread from a quick single-motor to a more rugged dual-motor broadens the car’s brief in the U.S., which is exactly what the model needed.
