Skoda keeps building out the electric Elroq lineup and is launching a special Elroq RS Matt Edition. This limited run of several hundred units is headed to global markets, and its headline feature is a matte paint finish offered for the first time in the brand’s history as a factory fit in standard specification. Orders are open now, with a starting price of €54,750. For Skoda, bringing matte paint in as standard on a limited RS run looks like a clear statement.

The matte look isn’t just a decorative wrap: the spec describes a coating with a matting agent and silicon dioxide nanoparticles that diffuse light and highlight the body’s surfacing. And it’s not only about appearance. This version comes fully loaded: aerodynamic wheels up to 21 inches, a heat pump, and the MAXX package with three-zone climate control, front seats with power adjustment, memory and massage, plus expanded automated parking functions, including remote maneuvers.

Under the skin, it remains the most powerful series-production Skoda: a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup delivers 340 hp, 0–100 km/h takes 5.4 seconds, and top speed is limited to 180 km/h. The 79-kWh battery is rated for up to 523 km of range on the WLTP cycle. Charging is another strong point: a 185-kW DC peak allows a 10 to 80 percent top-up in roughly 28 minutes.

The RS chassis is tuned for pace: stiffer springs and a 15-mm drop, electronically controlled dampers with dedicated calibration, uprated front brakes, and a quicker variable-ratio steering setup. The hardware reads like a carefully chosen set for drivers who appreciate precision.
