Subaru Trailseeker EV for the U.S.: price, range, and specs

Meet the Subaru Trailseeker EV, the fastest Subaru yet: U.S. sales start early 2026 from $39,995, 0–60 in 4.4s, ~280-mile range, AWD, 150 kW charging and NACS.

Subaru is bringing the new Trailseeker electric SUV to the U.S., with sales set to begin in early 2026 and a base price of $39,995. The brand’s headline claim is clear: it will be the quickest production Subaru for the U.S. market. A dual-motor setup delivers 375 hp, with 0–96 km/h (0–60 mph) in 4.4 seconds—figures that suggest genuine pace by any SUV measure.

Even so, the model keeps a practical, Subaru-like focus. Symmetrical all-wheel drive is standard and adapted to the EV layout, apportioning torque with regard to loads under acceleration, braking, and cornering. It reads as classic Subaru pragmatism, carried over thoughtfully into the electric era.

Subaru quotes an estimated range of about 450 km (around 280 miles). The 74.7 kWh battery supports DC fast charging up to 150 kW, enabling a 20 to 80% charge in 28 minutes. An important U.S.-market touch is the NACS port, opening access to more than 25,000 charging points. The pack can be preconditioned automatically when a route to a charger is set—or manually from the screen—to help keep charging speeds from dropping as much in cold weather. It’s the kind of everyday usability that tends to matter more than peak numbers.

The Trailseeker also brings 8.3 inches of ground clearance and X-MODE off-road settings, plus solid practicality: cargo space is promised to be on par with the Outback. Roof rails are rated for a high load, and towing is listed at up to 1,600 kg. Inside, there’s Subaru’s largest-ever 14-inch display. Three trims will be offered: Premium, Limited, and Touring. The packaging looks straightforward and familiar—an easy step for existing Subaru owners eyeing their first EV.
