Aston Martin Lagonda EV spotted testing with Lucid platform
Spy shots reveal the Aston Martin Lagonda EV testing with Lucid Motors tech: 800+ hp, 800 km range, torque vectoring and ultra-fast charging in an aero design.
Aston Martin has effectively walked back its earlier talk of pausing electric programs. The brand’s first fully electric model, the Lagonda, is already in road testing, as fresh spy photography makes clear. The car was originally planned for a 2025 debut, later moved to 2030. Taken together, the shift feels less like a detour and more like a quiet course correction.
A few years ago the company maintained that Aston Martin customers weren’t ready for EVs, yet the development prototype suggests otherwise. The project is being developed with Lucid Motors, with which the British marque signed a 2023 agreement on a shared EV platform. Lucid’s technology underpins the future Lagonda.
By its proportions and body cues, the car clearly references the 2018 concept of the same name. A streamlined silhouette, a vast windshield flowing into the hood, cameras in place of mirrors, and unusual rear doors with upper hinges all seem to remain beneath the heavy camouflage. Aerodynamics deserve a closer look: active cooling elements and a fully closed underbody point to serious power and wide tires.
The Lagonda is expected to deliver more than 800 hp and a range exceeding 800 km, putting it on par with the best premium EVs of 2025. The powertrain is set to pair two electric motors on the rear axle with advanced torque vectoring, while the battery targets ultra-fast charging.
