Euro NCAP final results: Mercedes-Benz CLA earns a five-star safety rating

Euro NCAP’s final crash tests: Mercedes-Benz CLA earns five stars, with 94% adult and 89% child protection, strong AEB and dooring-prevention for road users.

Euro NCAP has published its final crash-test results for the year, putting a diverse lineup through evaluation: Alpine A390, Deepal S05, Exlantix ET, Kia EV4, Kia PV5, Mercedes-Benz CLA, MG4 EV, Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, Porsche Cayenne Electric, and Hyundai Nexo. Much of the attention naturally centered on the new Mercedes-Benz CLA, engineered on the MMA platform designed with electric vehicles in mind.

Offered as both an all-electric model and a hybrid, the CLA earned the maximum five-star rating. Adult-occupant protection was rated at 94 percent, with the body structure and electronic systems delivering consistent safety across varied crash scenarios. Child protection reached 89 percent; testers noted that the automatic airbag deactivation function operated correctly when a child seat was installed.

The CLA also scored strongly for the safety of vulnerable road users, including pedestrians and cyclists. Automatic emergency braking proved dependable, while the system that prevents a door from opening into an approaching object responded effectively. Taken together, these results quietly reinforce the brand’s standing in a segment where advanced safety technology makes a tangible difference day to day.
