Galloper Is Coming Back: Spain Gets a New Off-Road Brand Built on Nissan Bones
Spanish-owned brand Galloper is relaunching before the end of 2026 with an SUV and a pickup based on the Nissan Terra and Navara, both powered by a 220-hp Mitsubishi engine.
The Galloper brand is preparing to resume operations in Spain before the end of 2026. The initial lineup will consist of a five-door body-on-frame SUV and a pickup, with sales set to begin in October. The project is backed by Spanish capital, though the vehicles themselves are based on existing Asian models.
According to Motor.es, the SUV is technically related to the Nissan Terra, while the pickup is linked to the Nissan Navara. Both models will get a Mitsubishi-sourced petrol engine producing around 220 hp, an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, and BorgWarner all-wheel drive. A “low-range” gearbox, a locking rear differential, and a near-tank-turn function are also planned.
That combination sets the future Galloper apart from most urban crossovers. The body-on-frame construction, low-range gearing, and diff lock are built for towing, off-road use, and driving on difficult surfaces. However, final specifications, fuel consumption, pickup payload, and European pricing haven’t been revealed yet.
At launch, Galloper expects to operate through 35 dealerships, expanding the network to 60 locations by the end of the year. A parts warehouse and logistics center are planned for Barcelona. Without accessible body panels, transmission parts, and diagnostic equipment, even familiar hardware can become difficult to service — which makes this far from a minor detail for a new brand.
The company is also exploring the possibility of assembling the vehicles in Spain. Down the line, versions with LPG and a mild-hybrid system could arrive, potentially qualifying for Spain’s ECO environmental label. For now, these remain plans rather than confirmed production variants.
The warranty is expected to run three years, extendable to six years or 150,000 km. Before ordering, buyers should check whether the extended coverage includes the engine, the ZF transmission, all-wheel drive, and the electronics, and confirm the list of authorized service centers.
