Mercedes-Benz GLS: three V8 versions join the European lineup, and prices are steep

Mercedes-Benz has expanded the updated GLS lineup in Europe with three V8 versions, from the GLS 580 to the ultra-luxury Maybach GLS 680.

Mercedes-Benz has expanded the updated GLS lineup in Europe: the diesel GLS 350 d and 450 d, along with the petrol GLS 450, are now joined by three V8-powered versions.

The GLS 580 4Matic gets a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 537 hp and 750 Nm. The large SUV, 5.22 meters long and weighing around 2.5 tonnes, sprints to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. Pricing starts at €236,280.

The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4Matic+ features an upgraded V8 rated at 612 hp and costs €304,986. The most expensive of the three is the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 680: with the same output, it's tuned for comfort rather than performance and is priced at €307,098.
