Zeekr 7GT vs Tesla Model 3: faster charging, slower trip

Peak 450 kW charging didn’t guarantee the Zeekr 7GT a win over long distance. On a calculated 600 km route, the Tesla Model 3 Long Range arrived nine minutes earlier and spent about €20 less on electricity. The reason wasn’t charging speed — it was the difference in energy consumption.

At a steady 120 km/h, the calculation assumed Tesla consumption of 16 kWh/100 km. The Model 3 needed 96 kWh, one 15-minute stop, and about 5 hours 30 minutes. The Zeekr was calculated at 22 kWh/100 km: two stops, 132 kWh, and 5 hours 39 minutes. At €0.55 per kWh, the trip cost €53 and €73 respectively.

There’s an important caveat here. The maximum 450 kW is only available on the rear-wheel-drive Zeekr 7GT Core with its 75 kWh LFP battery. And the claimed 13 minutes from 10 to 80% is calculated by the manufacturer using a 360 kW charger. Versions with the 100 kWh battery accept up to 420 kW and charge in 16 minutes. Official WLTP consumption is 16.6–19.8 kWh/100 km, so the 22 kWh figure reflects the source’s specific high-speed scenario.

The comparison shouldn’t be treated as a lab verdict: the Zeekr 7GT is larger and weighs at least 2,265 kg, and the result depends on battery temperature, wind, terrain, and access to a powerful charger. As for how Tesla is trying to cut charging time on the base Model 3 to around 15 minutes, that was covered earlier by 32CARS.RU. In this scenario, the extra 36 kWh of consumption completely wiped out the Zeekr’s advantage in peak charging power.
