Honda N-Box: Mugen tuning adds looks and a Yamaha damper, not power

Mugen has released an accessory line for the updated Honda N-Box, including a body kit and a Yamaha damper, but the 64 hp turbo engine stays untouched.

A full Mugen tuning package for the updated Honda N-Box can run up to 591,800 yen — around 3,216 euros. That’s 33% of the kei car’s base price. The 658cc turbo engine gets none of it: output stays at 64 hp.

Mugen unveiled the accessories on July 16, 2026. For the N-Box Custom, the lineup includes front, side and rear spoilers, a grille garnish, decals and 15-inch wheels. The exterior kit alone costs 261,800 yen, about 1,423 euros, while the wheels with hardware add another 151,800 yen, or 825 euros.

The most substantial upgrade is the Yamaha damper at 71,500 yen, around 389 euros. It’s meant to cut vibration and sharpen chassis response. There’s a trade-off, though: the front spoiler sits 40mm lower than the stock bumper, the alternative garnish drops it by 55mm, and the side skirts cut ground clearance by 35mm. For a city kei car, scraping a curb may end up mattering more than the handling gains.

The Honda N-Box itself starts at 1,768,800 yen and tops out at 2,820,400 yen in Japan — roughly 9,611 to 15,326 euros. The exterior-only kit mostly buys looks; the damper and wheels are the parts that deliver a clearer result without paying for the whole catalog.
