Trump Orders 250 Cadillac Escalades: Batch Could Cost Over $75 Million

Donald Trump has announced that American security services have ordered 250 Cadillac Escalade SUVs. Even at the base retail price, the batch is worth at least $22.8 million. The real figure could turn out significantly higher, since the vehicles are intended for protection duty and the details of their special preparation have not been disclosed.

The statement came on July 27 during a visit to General Motors’ proving ground in Milford, Michigan. “We ordered 250 Escalades,” the U.S. president said, adding that the SUVs are meant for security detail and presidential motorcades. General Motors had confirmed the visit in advance but has not issued a separate statement on the contract, trim levels, or delivery timeline.

The official price of the Cadillac Escalade 2026 model year in the U.S. starts at $91,100. The base vehicle comes with a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8, the Super Cruise system, and a 55-inch display spanning the entire dashboard. Multiplied by 250 units, the minimum retail value comes to $22.775 million.

However, a stock Escalade at $91,100 cannot be directly equated with a protection vehicle. The Guardian cites an estimate of over $300,000 for an armored SUV of this type. If all 250 vehicles receive comparable protection, the total could theoretically exceed $75 million. There is no confirmation yet that this configuration is what was ordered.

The Secret Service already uses specially prepared Cadillacs. In March, reports said the presidential fleet had received two Escalade Camp Package vehicles for routes where the heavy limousine known as The Beast cannot travel. Those vehicles outwardly resemble the previous-generation Escalade, though their protection level and technical basis were never officially disclosed.

The new order stands out mainly for its scale: 250 SUVs is not a minor top-up of the motorcade but a potential fleet renewal across several units. Until procurement documentation is published, it remains unknown who the direct buyer is, how many vehicles will be armored, and whether the batch includes ordinary escort cars.
