MG QS9 plug-in hybrid: seven-seat SUV coming to Europe in 2026

Discover the MG QS9 plug-in hybrid: a seven-seat SUV with five-star Euro NCAP, 50–60 km EV range, AWD and Bose audio, arriving in 2026 from around €40,000.

MG is preparing to bring the large QS9 crossover to Europe, with market launch planned for 2026. The model has already completed Euro NCAP crash testing with a five-star rating, which helps streamline certification. Built on the Roewe RX9 platform and measuring nearly five meters in length, it goes up against big European SUVs such as the BMW X5 on size alone.

The QS9 is a seven-seater with a cabin centered around twin 12.3-inch displays, a digital instrument cluster, and an infotainment system with support for wireless services. All-wheel-drive versions add ventilated leather seats, inductive charging, and a Bose audio system. Cargo capacity ranges from 203 to 1,052 liters.

For Europe, MG is offering a plug-in hybrid QS9 using the setup from the HS PHEV: a 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with an electric motor for a combined 272 hp. The expected electric-only range is about 50–60 km. The model is aimed at family buyers and corporate fleets.

A preliminary price of around 40,000 euros would make the QS9 one of the more accessible options among large family SUVs. Given that positioning and the feature mix, it should land well with its target audience.
