Genesis GV90: 27-Inch Screen, Removable Tablet and Four Captain’s Chairs Revealed

New spy shots reveal the Genesis GV90 cabin: a panoramic display near 27 inches, a shifter on the steering column, and four individual seats with a removable rear tablet.

New photos of the Genesis GV90 reveal more than just a large screen — they show a clear split in functions between the driver and rear passengers. The gear selector has moved to the steering column, freeing up the center console for the Crystal Sphere controller. Ahead of the driver sits a single panoramic display, which earlier photos suggested measures roughly 27 inches.

The car shown here has four individual seats. The rear seats are separated by a tall console with wireless charging and a removable tablet that controls part of the cabin’s functions. Still, it’s too early to call the whole lineup a four-seater: photographers have previously spotted signs of a third row, so the VIP layout may end up reserved for the priciest trim.

Seatbelts integrated into the front seatbacks tie into the flagship’s main structural feature — coach doors with no center pillar. Genesis first showed this approach on the Neolun concept. At the time, the automaker said the design had reached a stage where it could be applied to production cars.

For an owner, the striking opening isn’t just about easy entry. A body without a conventional center pillar needs special locks, reinforcements and seals. After a side impact or a bent frame, a shop would have to check the geometry of both door openings, the locks and the sealing, which means repairs on this version could end up trickier than on a standard GV90 with regular doors.

AutoSpies names September 9 as the reveal date, but Genesis hasn’t made anything official yet. The original Korean source only mentioned a target date and noted the schedule was still being adjusted internally. So specs, trims and pricing for the GV90 should be treated as unconfirmed until the actual unveiling.

The spy shots already show the GV90 will keep the Neolun’s key ideas, but they don’t prove every concept feature will carry over. Rotating front seats, ondol-style heating and a ceiling display were announced specifically for the show car; Genesis hasn’t confirmed they’ll make it to production.
