Denza Z9GT: UK Pricing Lands £7,600 Above the Porsche Taycan 4S

Denza's Z9GT shooting brake launches in the UK from £105,000, undercut only slightly by the Porsche Taycan 4S Sport Turismo. Its 1,500kW charging edge depends on infrastructure the UK doesn't have yet.

Denza Z9GT has launched in the UK priced from £105,000 (€122,800). That's £7,600 (€8,900) more than the Porsche Taycan 4S Sport Turismo, which starts at £97,400 (€113,900). The Chinese shooting brake answers with three electric motors producing 1,156hp and 1,210Nm, though its headline advantage — a five-minute charge — depends on infrastructure the UK market has yet to build.

A 122.49kWh battery delivers up to 600km on the WLTP cycle. The sprint to 100km/h takes 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 270km/h. On a Flash Charging station rated up to 1,500kW, the battery can go from 10 to 70% in five minutes, and up to 97% in nine.

There's an inconvenient catch: existing UK rapid chargers, according to BYD itself, typically offer between 50 and 350kW. So right after purchase, real-world charging times will be dictated by whatever charger is available, not the Z9GT's ceiling. Rolling out dedicated Flash Charging hubs remains part of the brand's future plans.

The price puts Denza in a segment where headline horsepower alone isn't enough. 32CARS.RU previously covered why the Denza Z9 GT left a test driver unconvinced about motorway stability — a subjective impression, not a confirmed defect.

Later, Denza will add a plug-in hybrid, the Z9GT DM, from £95,000 (€111,100). It's less powerful at 776hp, but can cover up to 203km on electric power alone and around 805km with a full tank and charged battery. Until the 1,500kW network exists, it's the cheaper hybrid that looks less dependent on the brand's headline promise.
