Mercedes-Benz Gives South Korean Firefighters Five Electric EQB SUVs

Mercedes-Benz handed five electric EQB 300 4MATIC SUVs to South Korean fire departments, bringing its total donations under the program to 79 vehicles.

The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee has handed five electric EQB 300 4MATIC crossovers to fire departments across South Korea. The ceremony took place on July 21, 2026, at the headquarters of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters.

The vehicles will go to units in Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheongbuk-do, Yongin, Ulsan, and Gwangju. Recipients were chosen based on how often emergencies occur in each area, regional characteristics, the nature of their duties, and the need for rapid deployment.

The five-seat EQB comes with cargo space that lets crews carry personnel and equipment together. Before the vehicles enter service, Mercedes-Benz will also cover the cost of fitting identification markings, radios, and emergency lights.

The electric SUVs will be used to respond to fires and other emergencies. The EQB remains a standard production compact crossover and won’t replace dedicated firefighting vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz has backed this kind of program in South Korea since 2016. With this latest batch, the company has now donated 79 vehicles to social and community organizations.
