Mitsubishi revives Triton Savana in Brazil: 80-unit off-road special

The Mitsubishi Triton Savana returns to Brazil as an 80-unit, off-road pickup with snorkel, 800 mm wading, Duratrac tires, 205 hp diesel and driver aids.

Mitsubishi has brought the iconic Savana back to the Triton pickup lineup. Known in Brazil since 2004 as the most adventure-focused variant, it returns as a limited run of 80 units based on the flagship Katana trim. The brief is clear: capability first. Tweaked geometry, a suite of off-road add-ons, and the familiar bold paintwork underline the special edition’s purpose.

Key changes include a graphite-grey snorkel and a raised rear differential breather, allowing water crossings up to 800 mm—more than a third beyond standard versions. There’s also a functional roof rack rated to 50 kg, widened fender flares, and 18-inch wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac RT mud tires. These are the sort of upgrades that pay off far from pavement.

Inside, the Triton Savana keeps the Katana’s premium kit: a 9-inch infotainment system with wireless mirroring, a surround-view camera setup, LED lighting, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable seats, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and a full suite of driver assists from blind-spot monitoring to lane keeping. It’s a welcome touch when an off-road special doesn’t skimp on comfort and safety tech.

Under the skin, the Savana mirrors the rest of the Triton range: a 2.4-liter bi-turbo diesel 4N16 SHP rated at 205 hp. The Super Select II or Easy Select transmission offers a full spread of 4×2, 4×4, 4HLc, and 4LLc modes. New to the series is an expanded Off-Road Mode with seven presets—ranging from Gravel and Mud to Sand and Rock. A broader calibration should make the truck more forgiving across mixed terrain.

Sales open at R$ 349,990—about R$ 11,000 more than the top Katana—with exclusive Amarelo Rally and Verde Forest paint options. The color choice fits the brief and helps the Savana stand out even before the mud does.
