Renault Kangoo E-Tech Electric gets cheaper: new Start trim saves €3,000 but skips DC fast charging

Renault has cut the starting price of the Kangoo Van E-Tech Electric in the Netherlands by €3,000 to €27,995 with a new Start trim, though it drops DC fast charging.

Renault has cut the starting price of the Kangoo Van E-Tech Electric in the Netherlands by €3,000, to €27,995. The saving comes from a new base trim called Start, available for the short L1 body. The longer L2 version, with a 4.3 cubic metre cargo bay, starts at €29,195.

Existing trims got cheaper too. The L1 Kangoo in Advance spec is down €1,800, while Extra drops €3,000. On the longer L2, the cuts are €2,000 and €5,800 respectively. The cab-chassis version is down €1,800–2,000, but the double-cab and Open Sesame door system have been dropped from the lineup.

The main trade-off with the new Start trim is charging. The official configurator lists only an 11 kW three-phase charger, with no DC fast-charging option. The pricier Advance trim comes with an 80 kW QuickCharger terminal. That makes Start best suited to city work with overnight charging, while regular long trips may make the savings less convenient.

The electric motor produces 90 kW, or roughly 122 hp, and 245 Nm of torque. The short base version is rated at up to 301 km of WLTP range, with 3.3 cubic metres of cargo space and a payload of around 470 kg.
