Mercedes-Benz brings Momenta-powered ADAS to China with the electric CLA

Mercedes-Benz launches an updated ADAS co-developed with Momenta for China, debuting on the electric CLA. Highway and city assist plus automated parking.

Mercedes-Benz has announced the launch in China of an updated driver-assistance suite developed together with Momenta. The new ADAS will debut this fall on the locally built electric CLA. It is designed for both highway and city use and supports fully automated parking, including moving the car from one parking space to another.

The partnership builds on Mercedes-Benz’s investment in Momenta dating back to 2017. Engineering teams in Germany and China adapted the system to local traffic realities, blending the brand’s standards with Momenta’s Flywheel AI platform. That combination points to a balance between global rigor and local nuance, the kind that tends to matter on crowded urban roads.

Before the rollout, the system went through extensive validation: hundreds of test vehicles covered significant distances in dense city conditions, while simulators ran scenarios spanning hundreds of millions of kilometers. All verification was conducted to global quality benchmarks. The sheer scope of testing inspires more confidence than any bold claims could.

Momenta also worked on calibrating how the ADAS interacts with the powertrain, chassis, and auxiliary functions. The result is likely to appeal to those choosing among modern cars with broader automation features, especially since deep integration usually makes assistance feel more natural from behind the wheel.
