Fiat Pandina Pop: No Radio, No Folding Rear Seat, but Still the Netherlands’ Cheapest New Petrol Car
Fiat has added two cheaper Pandina trims, Pop and Icon, to its Dutch lineup. The base Pop now undercuts every new petrol car on sale in the Netherlands.
Fiat has expanded its Dutch Pandina lineup with two more affordable trims — Pop and Icon. The base Pandina Pop costs €19,999 and is now the cheapest new petrol car on sale in the Netherlands. Dacia Sandero used to hold that title, but the SCe-engined version is no longer offered.
Under the hood sits a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine with a mild-hybrid system producing 65 hp. The sprint to 100 km/h takes 14.1 seconds, top speed reaches 158 km/h, and Fiat quotes average fuel consumption of 5.0 l/100 km.
The low price required some cuts. Inside, there are only four seats, the driver’s seat lacks height adjustment, the rear bench doesn’t fold, and there’s no built-in audio system. Air conditioning, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, front electric windows, rear parking sensors, traffic sign recognition, and lane-keeping assist are all still included.
Next in line on price is the Kia Picanto at €20,995, while the Dacia Sandero now starts at €21,600. The Pandina has effectively brought back a genuinely simple city car to the market, even though its cheapest version already sits right on the edge of the €20,000 mark.
