Oracle Lighting launches world-first lensless LED headlights for Tacoma
Oracle Lighting unveils lensless, modular LED headlights for Toyota Tacoma off-roaders. Sealed Bi-LES capsules, quick module swaps, priced $800–900 per kit.
Oracle Lighting has unveiled what it calls the world’s first “lensless” LED headlight system. The design eliminates the traditional clear lens—identified as a major source of trouble for off-road vehicles, from cracking and fogging to yellowing and water ingress. In its place, Bi-LES light modules sit inside sealed protective capsules, engineered for high resistance to dust, water, and rapid temperature changes.
The headline advantage is serviceability: if a single module fails, it can be swapped on its own without replacing the entire unit or removing the headlight assembly. Oracle also offers color-matched housings to tie in with the vehicle’s paint and has reworked the mounting for easier access. The emphasis on quick, modular repair looks like a smart move for vehicles that actually see rough terrain.
The first application will be the previous-generation Toyota Tacoma, chosen for its massive following among drivers who tackle hard off-road routes—exactly where headlights are most vulnerable. The kit is priced at $800–900. Versions for the Toyota 4Runner, Ford F-150, and other models are set to follow.
The developers said the system took years to create, and Oracle expresses confidence in its durability. Now the real test will be how it performs in the conditions it was built for—a proving ground that tends to separate clever ideas from lasting solutions.
