Caoa Changan arrives in Brazil with Uni-T, CS75 and Avatr EVs
At the São Paulo Motor Show, Caoa launches the Caoa Changan brand for Brazil, previewing Uni-T, CS75 and Avatr 11/12 EVs, with fast rollout via dealer network.
At the São Paulo Motor Show, Caoa unveiled a new brand for Brazil: Caoa Changan. The agreement with China’s Changan was signed right at the stand, and the partnership is aimed at a swift market entry by tapping Caoa’s experience and its existing dealer network. While the lineup hasn’t been officially confirmed, the company’s promotional materials already hint at the Uni-T, the CS75, and two models from the premium electric Avatr family. The public signing alone shows they intend to move quickly.
The Changan Uni-T targets the mid-size coupe-style crossover segment. Measuring 4.51 m in length and powered by a 1.5-liter turbo with 188 hp, it’s clearly aimed at rivals such as the Corolla Cross and BYD Song Pro. The brief suggests a focus on style without losing sight of performance that matters day to day.
The Changan CS75 is a larger SUV at 4.77 m—nearly in the Jeep Commander’s footprint. Inside, it features three displays with a combined 37-inch diagonal, a minimalist finish, and advanced driver-assistance systems. Engine options include 1.5- and 2.0-liter turbos with outputs up to 232 hp. The combination of cabin tech and straightforward powertrains should resonate with buyers who want modern features without complexity.
At the same time, Caoa is bringing in the premium Avatr brand, a joint venture between Changan, CATL, and Huawei. The Avatr 11, an all-electric coupe-SUV, uses two Huawei motors for a total of 586 hp and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The Avatr 12 sedan is even larger—over 5 meters long—and comes with air suspension, active CDC dampers, and versions rated at 313 or 578 hp. It’s a clear showcase of intent in the high-end EV space.
For now, the cars are being shown to the public, but Caoa looks ready to open a new front in Brazil—spanning attainable Chinese SUVs and premium electric flagships. The breadth of this first wave hints at a strategy to build volume while establishing a technology halo.
