Jeep Avenger 2027 for Brazil: cheapest Jeep with Fiat-Peugeot tech and a class-rare sunroof
Stellantis readies the Avenger as Jeep's most affordable SUV in Brazil: a 116 hp T200 flex engine, a mild-hybrid setup, a 380-liter boot and a sunroof its rivals skip.
The Jeep Avenger 2027 is being prepared for Brazil as the brand's most affordable SUV, and fresh camouflage-free shots show that Stellantis isn't trying to turn it into a small premium model. This is a compact crossover with a Jeep badge, hardware from mass-market Fiat and Peugeot models, and a set of options meant to soften the sense of cost-cutting inside.
The lineup gets the Altitude, Longitude, Sahara, Limited and 85 Years versions. All of them will carry the Hybrid label, but a full hybrid isn't on the cards: this is a mild 12-volt system.
Under the hood sits a 1.0-liter T200 turbo flex, detuned to 116 hp to meet local emissions and tax rules. The gearbox is a CVT with seven simulated ratios. Inside, the Avenger honestly shows its budget roots: hard plastic on the doors, Peugeot controls and a Fiat Toro gear selector — in finish quality this is no shrunken Renegade. In return, Jeep adds showroom-friendly touches: a soft dashboard insert, contrast stitching, wireless charging, an electronic handbrake, and cloth or black leatherette upholstery.
The top Limited should get a sunroof, a 360-degree camera system and radar for level-2 assistants. The sunroof could be its strongest argument: direct rivals such as the Volkswagen Tera, Fiat Pulse, Renault Kardian and Chevrolet Sonic don't offer one. For a budget SUV that's no minor detail — it's a way to look pricier than the competition. The dimensions almost match the European Avenger: 4084 mm long, 1776 mm wide and 1534 mm tall, with a 2557 mm wheelbase. It is 22 cm shorter than the Renegade yet barely loses out on wheelbase. The boot is even bigger: 380 liters against 320 in the larger model.
The pricier versions are expected to get 18-inch wheels with 215/55 tires, rear disc brakes, front McPherson struts and a torsion beam at the rear. The expected price range in Brazil is R$120,000 to R$150,000 — roughly US$22,000 to US$28,000.
The Avenger is clearly built for the local market: a flex engine, a simplified hybrid system and a bet on tax breaks. The real intrigue lies neither in power nor even in price. Jeep will test how many buyers will forgive the plain cabin if, in return, they get a familiar brand, a practical boot, a sunroof and electronic assistants in a compact body.
Earlier, 32CARS.RU reported that Jeep is preparing two compact crossovers and a large off-roader for Europe.
