Renault Koleos 2026 for Brazil: hybrid SUV on the CMA platform

2026 Renault Koleos debuts in Brazil on CMA with a hybrid powertrain, optional AWD, 545 L cargo, up to 29 ADAS, OTA updates and a more premium, tech-rich cabin.

Renault is preparing a major overhaul of its lineup in Brazil, and the centerpiece will be the new Koleos, finally due in 2026. Unlike earlier attempts, this generation is developed with Geely and rides on the CMA architecture—the same platform used by the Volvo XC40. The switch makes the SUV feel notably more premium.

The numbers back that up: length 4.77 m, wheelbase 2.84 m, cargo capacity 545 liters. The five-seat cabin leans into comfort and tech. A hybrid system pairs a 1.5‑liter turbocharged engine with 150 hp with two electric motors—a generator and a rear drive unit at 136 hp. The DHT transmission can send power to the front wheels or to all four, depending on conditions. On paper, the blend of size, hybrid power, and drivetrain flexibility looks well-judged.

The design has been rethought front to back: a frameless grille tied together by a slim LED light bar, clean side surfacing, and large wheels. Inside, two 12.3‑inch openR displays are expected, with an optional third screen for the front passenger. Top trims will add a panoramic roof, seat ventilation and heating, five drive modes, and over‑the‑air updates. The approach favors clarity over excess, which suits the brief.

Rear passengers haven’t been overlooked either: USB‑C ports, air vents, seat heating, and adjustable backrests are on the list. In launch markets, the SUV is fitted with seven airbags and up to 29 ADAS systems.

With investment flowing into the Renault–Geely complex in Brazil, the likelihood of local Koleos assembly later on is very high. The model is poised to become a key step in the brand’s move toward a more tech‑forward, premium space. It’s a measured, confident pivot rather than a radical leap.
