Alfa Romeo 8C Trio Hits the Market: One Spider Has Just 24 km on the Clock

Dubai dealer Tomini Classics is offering two 8C Competizione coupes and one 8C Spider. The rarest of the three has covered just 24 km and holds its value far better than its Maserati cousin.

Dubai dealer Tomini Classics has listed three Alfa Romeo 8C cars at once — two Competizione coupes and one Spider roadster. The collection carries a combined price of $935,000, and for Alfa fans it is a ready-made garage built around one of the most beautiful models of the 21st century. The Alfa Romeo 8C first appeared as a concept in 2003, with the production version arriving in 2007.

Technically the car was closely related to the Maserati GranTurismo, but it received a far rarer body, striking Italian styling by Wolfgang Egger and a 4.7-liter Ferrari V8 beneath its long hood. Just 829 examples were built: 500 coupes and 329 Spiders. Production of the open-top version was cut short by the financial crisis, which is why the roadster is prized especially highly today. Unlike its Maserati relative, which has depreciated noticeably over the years, the Alfa Romeo 8C holds its value precisely because of its rarity and collector status.

The first car in the selection is a 2009 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione Coupe in the signature Rosso Competizione shade with a red leather interior. It is one of the 70 examples delivered to Japan. The mileage stands at 14,100 km, and the price is $310,000. The second coupe, also from 2009, wears the rarer Azzurro Monaco Metallic and comes with an interior in brown leather and suede.

The odometer reads 23,058 km. This is the most affordable car of the trio, though the “affordability” is relative here: it is offered at $295,000, still above the original price of the 8C Competizione back in 2007.

The crown jewel of the collection is the 2010 Alfa Romeo 8C Spider. It is finished in the pearlescent Bianco Madreperla white, with a brown soft top and a tan leather interior. And most importantly — it shows just 24 km. Effectively this is a car with delivery mileage that has barely touched the road. The price of this Spider is $330,000. For that same $935,000 you could look toward used examples of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, McLaren Senna, Ferrari SF90 Spider or even an allocation for a brand-new Aston Martin Valhalla. All of them would be faster, more advanced and meaner on track.

But the three Alfa Romeo 8Cs have a different advantage — rarity, design and a link to an era when Alfa could still build an emotional super-GT on a Maserati base and with a Ferrari heart. For an ordinary buyer this is madness. For a collector it is a fairly logical bet: three limited-run cars, one of which has barely been driven, could over time turn out to be not merely beautiful toys but an asset with rising value.

Earlier, 32CARS.RU reported that Alfa Romeo is preparing a new “multi-energy” SUV on the Stellantis platform.
