Ford Kuga PHEV has taken a sharp price drop on the Dutch market. The arrival of a new entry-level Trend Business version cuts the plug-in hybrid’s starting price by €5,000 in one go — down to €38,990.

The powertrain stays the same. The Kuga remains a 243 hp plug-in hybrid with roughly 60 km of electric-only range. The real difference is on the equipment side: Trend Business now sits below the Titanium trim, which used to serve as the entry point and came fairly well equipped.

Visually, the stripped-back Kuga is barely distinguishable from Titanium: same 17-inch wheels, LED lighting and matte aluminium accents on the bumpers. That said, tinted rear windows now cost an extra €300, and roof rails add another €250. Inside, there’s no built-in navigation, no ambient lighting, no rain sensor, no keyless entry, no seat-back pockets, no rear-seat heating and no front parking sensors.

Even so, the base spec doesn’t feel bare. Trend Business comes with dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, power-folding mirrors, a rear-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, cruise control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
