Ford is preparing a new Security Package for the 2027 model year Explorer. According to foreign media reports, the bundle is not aimed at active driving safety but at protecting the vehicle from theft and helping the owner respond after suspicious activity.

The Ford Security Package will include theft alerts, a stolen-vehicle tracking service and a remote engine start lockdown. In other words, the system won’t merely act like a conventional alarm — it gives the owner and Ford’s services more tools to react once a theft attempt has actually taken place.

The Security Package will be part of a broader update to the 2027 Explorer. The model is also expected to gain an ST Sinister Package, a return of the Panoramic Vista Roof in place of the fixed glass roof, new dealer accessories, a version without roof rails and broader availability of the 3.0-litre EcoBoost V6 for the Platinum trim.

Importantly, the Ford Security Package should not be confused with driver assistance features like lane keeping or adaptive cruise control. This is an anti-theft and connected services bundle, not a driving aid.
