Unveiled at Guangzhou 2025, the Toyota bZ5 is a coupe-styled electric crossover on e-TNGA with a 200 kW motor, FWD/AWD, 15.6-inch display, JBL audio, and LiDAR.

Unveiled at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show, the new Toyota bZ5 is a coupe-styled electric crossover built on the e-TNGA platform and positioned above the bZ3. The model leans into a striking look: narrow headlamps, a flowing hood line, a fastback silhouette, and a signature rear light bar. Reporters from 32CARS.RU noted that in person the car appears wider and lower than in photos, with the red paint putting a sharper emphasis on its sporty character.

Inside, the cabin is thoroughly reworked in the spirit of modern EVs: a compact digital cluster sits ahead of the driver, while a large central touchscreen dominates the dash. The transmission is controlled by a rotary dial, and the lower section of the console echoes familiar Lexus solutions—clean, neatly tiered, and deliberately minimal.

According to the team on site, the bZ5 comes in several versions, including PRO and MAX, differing in equipment and driver-assistance suites. A 200 kW (268 hp) electric motor powers the front axle. Highlights include a 15.6-inch display, heated seats, a surround-view system, cruise control, a 10-speaker JBL setup, and even a roof-mounted LiDAR.

On the technical front, Toyota keeps the choice straightforward: front- or all-wheel drive, a higher-density battery, and proprietary Toyota Pilot systems.

Sales are slated for 2025, with the bZ5 set to challenge the BYD Seal and Geely Galaxy E5. In the electric sedan segment, Toyota is signaling a serious bid to rekindle interest in the brand.
