New Dacia family wagon spied in Europe with hybrid tech
Dacia’s largest model yet is a Stepway-flavoured family wagon on CMF-B, spied ahead of a 2026 premiere. Hybrid options, FWD only, aimed at Octavia and Leon.
Dacia continues to expand its range, with an all-new family model now undergoing road tests across Europe. Spotted in the south of the continent, the heavily camouflaged prototype already reads as the brand’s largest and most expensive vehicle to date. Even through the wrap, it’s clear we’re looking at a wagon with Stepway-flavoured details—engineered for practicality and a raised ride height. For value-minded families weighing their options, it could become one of 2026’s most intriguing debuts. Prototype
Built on the CMF-B platform, the car stretches to roughly 4.6 meters, putting it in the same ballpark as the Skoda Octavia Combi. A gently sloping roofline and elongated silhouette signal an aerodynamic profile, while the mix of clean lines, a prominent grille and distinctive lighting reflects Dacia’s latest design language. The proportions suggest a purposeful long-roof rather than a utilitarian box—an encouraging sign for a family hauler.
Under the hood, Dacia is expected to rely on familiar hardware from the Bigster and Jogger: petrol and gas variants of the 1.2 TCe paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, plus a new-generation HEV setup. All versions are front-wheel drive. The brand does not plan to offer 4x4 here, reserving all-wheel drive for its SUVs.
The world premiere is slated for the second half of 2026, with European showroom arrivals planned for early 2027. True to Dacia’s value-focused approach, the newcomer aims to challenge the SEAT Leon Sportstourer, Skoda Octavia Combi and Citroen C5 X by blending space, usability and attainable pricing. If the execution matches the brief, it could become a cornerstone of Dacia’s strategy in the roomy, no-nonsense family segment.
