Mercedes-AMG GT XX electric concept debuts at Guangzhou with 1,340 hp and 850 kW charging
Discover the Mercedes-AMG GT XX Concept: 800-volt EV with three Yasa motors, 1,340 hp, 360 km/h top speed and 850 kW charging. Debut at Guangzhou Auto Show.
The Mercedes-AMG GT XX Concept made its debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The newcomer appeared on the eve of the event during AMG XX Innovation Day, sharing the stage with the brand’s classic models and the AMG F1 W16 car. According to the company, the prototype set 25 world records, including the longest distance covered by an electric vehicle in 24 hours. That sets a confident tone for what follows.
Built on the AMG.EA architecture and running an 800-volt system, the GT XX Concept uses three axial Yasa electric motors: one on the front axle and two at the rear. Combined output reaches 1,340 hp, with a claimed top speed of 360 km/h. Its battery uses cylindrical cells from Sila Nanotechnologies and supports charging at up to 850 kW, adding 400 km of range in five minutes. On paper, the spec sheet reads like a manifesto for rapid charging and outright speed.
The body wears the brand’s Vision One-Eleven orange, and the drag coefficient is 0.198. Up front is a large arched light bar with lighting integrated into the fenders. At the rear, six round lamps frame a prominent carbon-fiber diffuser. Inside, there’s a dual-display setup, a sport steering wheel, and orange accents that echo the front-end theme. The design leans more toward purpose than ornament, which lets the details do the talking.
The model is presented as a showcase of future AMG technologies and will be on display at the brand’s stand throughout the show. As a technology demonstrator, it points clearly to where AMG intends to take its electric playbook next.
