Buick crossover concept sketches: GM Design’s low-slung vision

See GM Design’s new sketches of a low-slung Buick crossover spotlighting agility and control, with slim LEDs and shooting-brake cues hinting at 2026 models.

GM Design has released a new set of sketches showcasing a low-slung Buick crossover concept. The project was developed by designer Xuan Feng from GM China Advanced Design. Judging by the visuals, the study puts the spotlight on agility and control: a wide stance, a stretched roofline, and pronounced wheel arches give it a planted, purposeful look.

Up front, the concept uses slim LED elements and a large decorative panel beneath the Buick badge. A long character line runs from the front fender to the rear pillars, sharpening the profile. The rear leans into a shooting-brake theme with horizontal lamps and a muscular bumper. The drawings also show large multi-spoke wheels and upsized brake hardware, quietly hinting at performance intent.

Several images explore alternative ideas: an even lower ride height, unconventional door formats including rear-hinged rears, and experimental rear-end treatments. The project is exploratory, and GM is not sharing any production plans. Even so, this design language could shape the brand’s future models, including new cars slated for 2026.
