Dodge Charger returns to Europe: electric Daytona and petrol Sixpack from €66,000
Dodge has opened European orders for the eighth-generation Charger. The lineup includes the all-electric Daytona and the petrol-powered Sixpack, in both fastback coupe and sedan body styles.
Dodge has opened European orders for the eighth-generation Charger. The key feature of the new Charger is that Dodge didn’t force buyers to pick a single philosophy. The lineup includes both the all-electric Charger Daytona and the petrol-powered Charger Sixpack. And the model is offered not only as a fastback coupe, but as a sedan as well.
The electric Charger Daytona comes in R/T and Scat Pack trims. The base version delivers 536 hp, with 0–96 km/h in 4.2 seconds. The Scat Pack is more potent — 670 hp, 0–96 km/h in 3.3 seconds, and the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds. Both versions use a 400-volt architecture and a 100.5 kWh battery. DC fast charging peaks at 183 kW, so a 20–80% top-up takes around 27 minutes.
For those who still want the sound, there’s the petrol Charger Sixpack. Under the hood sits a 3.0-litre inline-six Hurricane with twin turbos, all-wheel drive and either 420 or 550 hp. The top version hits 96 km/h in 3.9 seconds and runs the quarter-mile in 12.2 seconds.
The European starting price is from €66,000. Standard equipment includes 20-inch wheels, power-adjustable front seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, a head-up display, a 16-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging and LED lighting.
