iCAR V27 premieres in Guangzhou: brand's first range-extender hybrid SUV
At Guangzhou Auto Show, iCAR V27 debuts as brand's first range-extender hybrid SUV: up to 200 km EV range, 1000+ km total, RWD or 335 kW AWD. Sales Q1 2026.
The iCAR V27 premiered at the Guangzhou Auto Show, becoming the brand’s first medium-to-large SUV with a range extender. It now leads the V lineup and is the marque’s first hybrid. Expected pricing is 200,000–300,000 yuan, with sales slated for the first quarter of 2026.
The exterior follows a “tech square” theme: a narrow grille, boxy headlights with ring lighting, and a substantial skid plate that underline its off-road intent. Dimensions measure 4909/5055 x 1976 x 1855/1894 mm depending on configuration, with a 2910 mm wheelbase. Signature V-series elements remain, including a blank rear-quarter window and a functional module with a camera and NFC. The squared-off look comes across as purposeful rather than blocky, giving the V27 a cohesive stance.
Inside, practicality takes priority: a single central media screen, a bank of physical buttons, and plenty of useful storage. The rear row features a three-seat bench and dedicated air vents. The straightforward layout should be easy to live with and feels refreshingly free of fad-driven complexity.
The iCAR V27 uses a 1.5-liter engine as part of a range-extender hybrid rated at 105 kW. Rear- and all-wheel-drive versions are announced, with the 4WD setup delivering a combined 335 kW. On the CLTC cycle, it claims up to 200 km of electric-only range, while total range exceeds 1,000 km. A version with lidar and a top-end Horizon chip is planned later. On paper, these figures suggest relaxed long-distance travel and brisk pace for a family-sized SUV.
