Lotus Eletre X: the 939 hp plug-in hybrid arrives in Europe — and it’s cheaper than the EV
Lotus brings the plug-in hybrid Eletre X to Europe. Two versions, 1,200+ km of range and prices starting at €96,990 — cheaper than the all-electric Eletre R.
Lotus has brought the Eletre X to Europe — the plug-in hybrid version of its large SUV. And it looks like the more sensible pick for buyers who love the Eletre’s performance but don’t want to be tied to charging stations.
The hybrid pairs a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with two electric motors, a 70 kWh battery and an 800-volt-class 900V architecture. The flagship Eletre X H1000 delivers 939 hp and 935 Nm of torque, hits 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and covers 80 to 160 km/h in 3.88 seconds. Total range exceeds 1,200 km, with up to 350 km on electric power alone. Charging from 20 to 80% on a 350 kW station takes just 9 minutes.
A calmer H550 version is also coming. It puts out 542 hp with the same 935 Nm of torque, reaches 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and tops out at 210 km/h. The H1000 stretches that ceiling to 230 km/h. Both versions share the same battery, 900V system and combined range.
In Germany, the Eletre X H550 starts at €96,990, while the H1000 is priced at €119,990. For comparison, the all-electric Eletre R costs more than €150,000.
The hybrid doesn’t replace the electric Eletre but makes the lineup clearer. Lotus has built an SUV that keeps the power and the fast charging while removing the biggest worry of long trips — running out of battery far from a usable charger.
