Toyota GRMN Corolla: The Hardest-Hitting GR Corolla Yet, Forged on the Nürburgring

The new GRMN Corolla turns the GR Corolla into a two-seat track tool: 304 hp, 415 Nm, carbon body parts and a 30 kg weight cut. Sales start in 2027.

Toyota has revealed the GRMN Corolla — the most extreme version of the GR Corolla, forged in motorsport and on the Nürburgring. Toyota Gazoo Racing built the car as a track weapon, with a stiffer chassis setup, reworked aerodynamics and a retuned GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive system.

Under the bonnet sits the same 1.6-litre three-cylinder turbo G16E-GTS. Power is unchanged at 224 kW (304 hp), but peak torque climbs to 415 Nm, up from 400 Nm in the standard GR Corolla. Engineers concentrated the extra punch in the mid-range, where it matters most on the exit of a corner. The gearbox is a six-speed iMT manual with closer ratios. The Japanese-spec car tips the scales at 1,450 kg — 30 kg lighter than the base manual model.

It is not just about the engine. The GRMN Corolla gets a carbon-fibre bonnet and front fenders, additional spoilers and an adjustable rear wing. The suspension uses bespoke monotube dampers, and the tyres are wider Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 in 245/40ZR18. Inside there are sports seats, dedicated trim and a numbered plaque. To save every last kilogram, the car is a strict two-seater.

The GRMN Corolla goes on sale in 2027 — in limited numbers and on just three markets: Japan, North America and Australia.
