Alpine starts A390 electric crossover production: specs, prices, GTS

Alpine begins series production of the A390 electric crossover: 400 hp, 89 kWh, up to 555 km WLTP, 150 kW fast charge. GT from €67,500; 470 hp GTS due 2026.

Alpine has officially started series production of its first electric crossover, the A390. For the French brand, it’s a pivotal step toward full electrification. The first customer car has already rolled off the line in Dieppe. The launch GT version uses a three-motor setup with 400 hp and an 89 kWh battery, rated for up to 555 km on the WLTP cycle. DC charging peaks at 150 kW, bringing the battery from 15 to 80% in 29 minutes — not class-leading today, yet still practical for long trips.

The model sits on the AmpR Medium platform, with battery modules using NMC cells produced in France: Verkor supplies the cells, while Renault handles assembly. The body is stamped in Sandouville, and the electric motors are put together in Cléon. Crucially, production preserves a partly hand-built approach that’s long been part of Alpine’s identity — a detail that adds charm in a segment often defined by pure volume.

The line will gradually ramp up to 50 cars per day, and a more powerful 470 hp GTS is slated for 2026. In Spain, the A390 GT is priced at €67,500, while the flagship GTS starts at around €78,000. This new SUV lands at the heart of Alpine’s strategy and clears a path for the brand into Europe’s premium electric crossover arena.
