Dongfeng Nissan Recalls N6 and N7 Due to Accelerator Pedal Defect
Dongfeng Nissan recalls 68,265 N6 and N7 in China due to accelerator pedal defect that may hinder throttle return. Free repairs offered.
Dongfeng Nissan has announced a recall in China for 68,265 N6 and N7 vehicles due to a defect in the accelerator pedal that could compromise driving safety. The recall begins on May 25, 2026. It covers 49,465 Nissan N7 vehicles from the 2025–2026 model years, built between March 28, 2025, and March 11, 2026. Also affected are 18,800 Nissan N6 units from the same model years, produced from October 21, 2025, to March 18, 2026.
The issue stems from the pedal assembly design. Over time, an internal friction element can wear, causing the pedal's moving part to contact a protruding housing feature. This prevents the accelerator pedal from returning smoothly, leading to a potentially dangerous situation: the car may not respond as expected when the driver lifts off the throttle, particularly in traffic or during maneuvers.
Dongfeng Nissan will replace the accelerator pedal assembly with an improved version at no cost to owners. For the N6, the brake pedal also needs to be swapped for a correctly shaped part. Owners will be notified via dealers through certified letters, phone calls, and text messages.
For the relatively new N6 and N7 models, this recall is especially sensitive. These vehicles may offer strong value and features, but customer trust is quickly determined not by the infotainment screen or electric range, but by how reliably the basic controls perform.
