The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 of the S550 generation is already one of the most iconic chapters in modern muscle car history. This version allowed Ford to take on the wild Dodge Hellcat and prove that the Mustang could be more than just a classic pony car — it could be a true straight-line monster.

Now, one of these GT500s has hit the market. The 2022 model, listed by Motorcars of Chicago, has a clean title and approximately 17,700 km on the clock. The asking price is $104,995 (around 9.3 million rubles). At first glance, that seems steep — in the U.S., that amount could buy two new Mustang GTs.

But the Shelby GT500 is a completely different animal. This particular example is finished in Oxford White with glossy black stripes running the length of the body. Black accents also appear on the front end, mirror caps, and rear.

Another highlight is the set of carbon-fiber wheels with a seven-spoke design, behind which red brake calipers are visible. Inside, the usual mix of black leather and Alcantara, white stitching, carbon-fiber trim, and Recaro seats with Shelby logos on the backrests.

Under the hood sits a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 producing 760 hp and 847 Nm. This Mustang Shelby GT500 can hit 60 mph (97 km/h) in just over 3 seconds and cover the quarter-mile in roughly 10 seconds under good conditions.

This isn't just a powerful Mustang — it's one of the most extreme production Fords of its era. Yet it remains relatively usable on everyday roads, which is what makes the GT500 especially appealing: by day it's a striking coupe, and by night it's a car that can embarrass plenty of supercars on the drag strip.

Whether this Shelby GT500 is worth two new Mustang GTs is more an emotional question than a rational one. A standard GT gives you a V8 and rear-wheel drive, but the GT500 offers something else: the status of the last great S550 monster, the supercharged whine, and numbers that already look collectible.
