2026 Toyota Hilux UK: Diesel and Electric Models Available from June
Toyota opens orders for 2026 Hilux in UK from June 1. Diesel 48V and electric BEV versions with pricing from £42,845. Towing capacity up to 3,500 kg.
Toyota is gearing up for the UK launch of the 2026 Hilux. Order books open on June 1, with first deliveries slated for summer. The electric versions are expected to reach customers by mid-June, while diesel models will follow in July. According to Toyota UK, the new Hilux Diesel 48V and the all-electric Hilux will both be available to order from June 2026.
The range is divided into two distinct paths. The diesel Hilux is available in Active, Icon, Invincible, and Invincible X trims, while the electric BEV is offered in Icon and Invincible specs. UK pricing begins at £42,845 (€49,272) for the diesel, and the electric variant starts at £57,845 (€66,522) before a £5,000 government grant.
The electric Hilux is equipped with a 59.2 kWh battery, all-wheel drive, and a WLTP range of up to 256 km. Toyota cautions that actual range varies with load, terrain, driving style, weather, and the use of onboard systems. Power output stands at 196 hp, with a maximum towing capacity of 1,700 kg.
The diesel Hilux remains the conventional pick for heavy-duty tasks. It packs a 2.8-liter engine with a 48-volt system, standard all-wheel drive, 201 hp, and a towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg. Both variants come in Double Cab guise with seating for five, while a two-seat conversion is slated for later introduction.
Toyota is not simply swapping diesel for electric; rather, it offers customers two distinct use cases. The BEV is ideal for short-haul routes and home or base charging. The diesel remains the choice for towing, long journeys, and heavy-duty operation. That’s the essence of the new Hilux: electrification is making its way into the work pickup segment, but it hasn’t replaced the tried-and-true formula just yet.
