Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo: The New Race Car with Twin-Turbo V8
Lamborghini unveils the Temerario Super Trofeo, a twin-turbo V8 race car with 620 hp. It replaces the Huracan, racing begins in 2027. Starting at $399k.
Lamborghini has revealed the final version of its new race car, the Temerario Super Trofeo. The unveiling took place during the second round of the 2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season. The model is set to replace the Huracan Super Trofeo, which has been competing in the series since 2015 and received updates in 2019 and 2022.
The Temerario Super Trofeo was first shown as a static display at the Lamborghini World Finals in Misano. Now, Lamborghini has brought the finished car to the Santerno circuit, where factory driver Marco Mapelli demonstrated it. Full racing with the new model will begin in 2027 across Asia, Europe, and North America.
The biggest technical change is the engine. This is the first Super Trofeo car to use a turbocharged powerplant. Instead of the Huracan's naturally aspirated V10, the new car gets a twin-turbo V8. It produces 620 hp at 7,000 rpm and 650 Nm of torque. Drive goes to the rear wheels.
In terms of construction, the Temerario Super Trofeo is related to the Temerario GT3 race car but differs in setup and purpose. It shares the same six-speed sequential gearbox from Hoer and the same braking system as the GT3. Curb weight is 1,392 kg. The suspension uses four-way adjustable dampers from KW Automotive.
Lamborghini also refined the aerodynamics. The most noticeable new feature is a rear fin designed to improve cornering stability. The price for teams starts at approximately $399,000 before taxes. Delivery timelines have not been announced yet.
