Skoda Karoq Design Edition: New trim adds sporty looks and more equipment

Skoda has launched a new Design Edition trim for the Karoq in the UK. It adds black exterior accents, larger wheels, and generous standard equipment at a competitive price.

Skoda has introduced a new Design Edition trim for the Karoq in the UK. It slots in between the SE Design and SE L Edition, targeting buyers who want more than the base equipment but don't want to pay up for higher trims.

The key focus is the exterior. The Karoq Design Edition features 18-inch black Hydrus wheels, black mirror caps, a black grille, roof rails, a larger rear spoiler, and darkened Skoda and Karoq badges. It's a simple kit, but it transforms the family SUV's character: the Karoq looks less practical and more athletic.

Inside, the Design Edition gets Lounge Interior trim with black fabric upholstery. Standard kit includes a drive mode selector, Amundsen navigation with an 8-inch screen, a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster, heated front seats, a rearview camera, keyless entry, and start-stop system.

Powertrain options are limited to petrol. The entry-level engine is a 1.0-liter TSI with 115 hp and a manual gearbox. Stepping up, there's a 1.5-liter TSI with 148 hp, available with either a manual or DSG.

Pricing kicks off at £31,610 for the Karoq Design Edition 1.0 TSI. The most expensive version with the 1.5 TSI and DSG costs £34,235. Deliveries are set to start on July 1, 2026.

Alongside new Skoda EVs like the Epiq, this Karoq might seem almost old-fashioned, but that's exactly the idea. There's still demand for straightforward petrol crossovers—no plug-in required—that are well-equipped without a big jump to premium territory. The Design Edition neatly fills that niche: it's not an all-new Karoq, but a more appealing daily driver.
