Nio is bringing its Firefly compact EV to Australia by end of 2026. With a 330km range and fast charging, it targets premium segment. Competing with Mini, VW ID.3, and Volvo EX30.
Chinese automaker Nio plans to bring its compact electric car, the Firefly, to the Australian market by the end of 2026. The model is expected to carry a price tag of over $30,000.
The Firefly is powered by a 105 kW electric motor and a 41.2 kWh battery, which delivers a range of around 330 km on a full charge. The battery charges quickly, going from 10% to 80% in just 29 minutes.
Despite having similar dimensions to models like the BYD Dolphin and Geely EX2, the company says it is targeting the premium segment. Nio claims the Firefly will compete directly with the Mini, Volkswagen ID.3, and Volvo EX30.
According to early reports, sales in Australia are set to begin once the Firefly passes all necessary certification processes and Nio secures distribution partnerships with major Australian dealers.
