Bugatti Tourbillon Winter Testing in Sweden

Bugatti's Tourbillon hypercar undergoes four weeks of winter testing in Sweden, calibrating ABS, traction control, and driving modes on snow and ice.

Bugatti has offered a look at the winter development of its new Tourbillon hypercar. Testing took place in Sweden, where the team evaluated the car on snow, ice, frozen lakes, and country roads. Chief test driver Miroslav Zrncevic said the entire winter program lasts about four weeks.

The schedule is tight: about 20 people are involved, but a core group of around six specialists handles most of the work. Sometimes the required low temperatures don't occur during the day, so tests are moved to the night. In those conditions, engineers work double shifts and weekends.

The main task is calibrating the Tourbillon's electronic systems for cold surfaces. This includes tuning ABS, traction control, and various driving modes. In Comfort mode, the hypercar should remain composed and predictable, while Sport settings allow more sliding and less electronic intervention.

Bugatti is also checking more mundane items: the heater, climate control, and windshield defroster. For a car of this level, it's not a formality. Even if most Tourbillon owners will rarely drive on snow, the vehicle must work properly in cold and damp weather.
