Meyle releases new shock absorber kit for Tesla Model Y

Meyle releases a shock absorber kit for Tesla Model Y, improving comfort and reducing noise. Reinforced, corrosion-resistant, available from May 2026.

German supplier Meyle has released a new shock absorber kit for the Tesla Model Y, aimed at the global market. The product covers all model years, and availability through the international spare parts network is expected from May 2026. AftermarketNews has also reported on the launch for Model Y.

Complaints from some Model Y owners about noise and ride harshness prompted the development. Meyle points out that the electric SUV’s suspension works under high loads, and the shocks typically begin to lose noticeable effectiveness at around 80,000 km. That is expected to drive strong aftermarket demand for this popular model.

The new kit is claimed to absorb bumps better than the original parts. Meyle promises balanced damping characteristics, a reinforced housing, a 16-mm piston rod, a corrosion-resistant cataphoretic coating, and special oil that ensures consistent performance in low temperatures. The company’s website also states that shock absorbers for the Model 3 and Model Y were developed with a focus on comfort, stability, and easy installation.

The front strut received separate attention. Meyle used a two-component C-shaped design tailored to the Model Y’s mounting points. The side-mounted layout makes it easier for service centers to replace the part in the tight space near the drive shaft. DEKRA testing confirmed the strength of the shock absorber fork, according to the company.
