2027 Cadillac Lyriq: The Last GM EV with CarPlay and Android Auto

2027 Cadillac Lyriq keeps Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, unlike other GM EVs. It also gets NACS charging. Learn why it's a standout luxury electric SUV.

The 2027 Cadillac Lyriq has secured a key advantage: it will continue to offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in both wired and wireless forms—features that many buyers still consider essential.

This choice sets the Lyriq apart from the rest of General Motors' electric lineup. While GM is moving aggressively toward its Google Built-In platform, ditching third-party systems to promote deeper integration with vehicle functions, the Lyriq remains the exception. Other EV models like the GMC Hummer EV and Chevrolet Silverado EV have already dropped CarPlay and Android Auto entirely. As a result, the Lyriq becomes the last GM electric vehicle in North America to keep the smartphone connectivity that drivers have grown accustomed to. And this is no minor detail: the Lyriq is central to Cadillac's electrification strategy.

For 2027, the Lyriq will also adopt the NACS charging connector, expanding its charging options. But retaining familiar phone mirroring could be an even stronger selling point for buyers who aren't ready to switch to built-in solutions. Many modern car functions still rely heavily on mobile devices, and Cadillac's pragmatic move leaves the choice in the customer's hands. At a time when not everyone is willing to give up trusted services, this decision may translate into a meaningful competitive edge.
