Ford recalls 2024-2026 Ranger and Bronco for loose seat bolt
Ford is recalling 179,698 Ranger and Bronco vehicles due to a front seat bolt that may loosen, reducing occupant restraint in a crash. Free fix at dealers.
Ford is recalling 179,698 vehicles in the United States because of a potential front-seat defect. The campaign covers select 2024–2026 Ford Ranger pickups and Bronco SUVs, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
At issue is a bolt in the front seat frame that may loosen. If it shifts or dislodges, the seat might not hold occupants as securely in a crash.
This is a clear, serious concern: in a collision, the seat could fail to properly restrain the driver or passenger. For vehicles like the Ranger and Bronco, which see everything from daily commuting to off-road adventures and heavy-duty use, the extra stress on the cabin makes this an even more critical flaw.
Dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and replace the pivot links and bolts as needed, free of charge to owners.
The NHTSA filing currently lists only the essential details: vehicle count, models, model years, the defect, and the fix. Owners of 2024–2026 Rangers and Broncos can check their VIN once the recall appears in the NHTSA database or simply wait for official notification from Ford.
