EBRO introduces its first electric vehicle, set to debut in winter 2026

Spanish brand EBRO announces its first electric vehicle, based on the Chery QQ3 platform, targeting the mass market with an affordable option against Chinese EVs. Production in Barcelona, range up to 400 km.

Spanish brand EBRO has announced the launch of its first electric vehicle, set to hit the market in the winter of 2026. The model will be produced at a factory in Barcelona and targets the mass market, offering an affordable alternative to the growing influx of Chinese EVs in Europe.

The new model is based on the Chery QQ3 platform, a compact crossover measuring 4195 mm in length. EBRO, however, positions it more as a versatile urban vehicle capable of handling not only city driving but also suburban routes. Formally, it is a five-door car with a five-seat cabin and modern equipment.

The interior will feature an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch central screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. Equipment includes dual-zone climate control, 50 W wireless charging, six airbags, and a suite of 16 driver assistance systems, bringing the model to the level of more expensive rivals.

Technically, the EV will get a rear electric motor producing 122 hp, with a 0-100 km/h sprint of under 11 seconds. Two battery options are planned, offering a range of up to 400 km. Fast charging will allow a 30 to 80 percent top-up in 20 to 30 minutes, while AC charging capacity will be up to 11 kW.

Effectively, EBRO is betting on proven Chinese technology, but with local assembly and adaptation to European requirements. This reflects a key market trend: European brands are beginning to compete with China not only on design but also on price, using the same platforms.

The arrival of such an EV signals a new phase of competition, shifting from the premium segment to the mass market, where the deciding factor is not the brand but the balance of price, technology, and practicality.
