GAC Trumpchi E8 PHEV and M8 PHEV premiered at Beijing Auto Show
GAC presented two hybrid minivans at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show: the Trumpchi E8 PHEV for families and the premium M8 PHEV, both with advanced hybrid powertrains and luxurious features.
At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, GAC unveiled two hybrid minivans: the next-generation Trumpchi E8 PHEV and the flagship M8 PHEV, targeting family and business buyers.
The GAC Trumpchi E8 PHEV features a modern design with slender LED headlights and a large chrome-accented grille. Its body measures 5000 mm in length with a 3000 mm wheelbase, and it comes with sliding doors.
Inside, the second row has individual seats with power adjustment, ventilation, heating, and massage. There are also folding tables, three-zone climate control, a refrigerator, and a 17.3-inch overhead screen.
In front of the driver is a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch central display. The model uses a hybrid setup with a 1.5-liter turbo engine (125 kW) and a lithium iron phosphate battery. A lidar option is available.
The GAC M8 PHEV is larger and more premium. It stretches over 5.2 meters long with a 3070 mm wheelbase. It packs a hybrid system with a 2.0-liter engine and an electric motor, delivering around 300 kW and 645 Nm of torque. The sprint to 100 km/h takes about 8 seconds.
The M8's cabin focuses on comfort: second-row seats offer zero-gravity functionality, Nappa leather upholstery, 12- or 24-point massage, ventilation, and heating. Equipment includes multiple screens (central display, digital cluster, overhead passenger screen) and a smart multimedia system with voice control.
Driver assistance systems use lidar and radar, with features like automatic parking and collision avoidance. The hybrid system's range allows electric-only city driving and long trips with few refueling stops. Both models underscore GAC's focus on hybrid technology and enhanced comfort in the modern minivan segment.
